FRIDAY

Trip to Copenhagen.Teachers Lasse Sandal and Anne Hansen took us to the Christiania district( a very liberal and free place in many senses).

Then on shopping to the main street,(and longest in Europe):Stroget. Lots of  fun and incredible experience for everyone.

SUNDAY

On Sunday we went on a trip to Roskilde and teachers Kevin Andreasson came along. Here the Viking ships museum is located. And also the Cathedral of Roskilde(Domkirke), where all the Danish kings and queens are buried. Very impressing indeed!

Then dressed in Viking costumes. We are attractive here, aren´t we?

Inside the Cathedral. Beautiful and full of history.

MONDAY

Trip to Copenhagen accompanied by Kevin and Anika Gronlund: The Little Mermaid, Ice skating, Amalienborg (this is the area where the Queen Palace is located), Kongens Nyrtov( the king´s new square), and a guided tour of the Danish Parliament(in Christianborg).

In the Queen´s Palace square with the soldiers on guard(Amalienborg).

Guided visit to the parliament(in english).

By the Hans Christian Andersen Statue.

TUESDAY

We went to the neighbour city of Helsinborg (across the sea, in Sweden), and back to Denmark on a guided tour in Kronborg Castle. The boat trip was also fun.

More pictures of Helsinborg(Sweden), one of them in the medieval tower of Karnan( which dates back to the Danish Empire times). This tower, along with the Kromborg Castle, controlled the entrance of ships to the Baltic Sea.

Back to Elsinor:

Kronborg Castle: Here you can see the statue of Holger. Legend says that if Denmark is ever threatened, the stone figure of this danish knight will turn into flesh and blood and rise in defence of the kingdom.
Also in the dungeons of Kromborg castle.

And finally,Farewell dinner and dance party in the Teachers Room of the school:

WEDNESDAY(COMING BACK HOME)

The Danish and their families see us off in the school and we left for the airport early in the morning. You can see our school in the screen at the airport. Also as you can see it was a freezing and snowy day. Finally the predicted snowstorm hit  the day we were coming back home. Lucky us and beautiful anyway.

Sleeping exhausted in the plane:

And that´s all folks for the time being
